Adam Ant was supposed to perform at the Cruel World Fest last year in 2023. It was announced a day before the event that “due to unforeseen circumstances,” he would sadly not be able to perform.” Squeeze were booked instead to take his place.

Photo Credit: Bruce Edwin.Thankfully this year for Cruel World Fest 2024, Adam Ant made it, and the crowd loved him. Looking and sounding great, Adam Ant truly seemed to love performing and being on stage. He danced, sang, posed, and smiled like the true star he is, and has been, since first signing with CBS Records back in 1980.
With a career spanning over a dozen albums, and numerous classic hits including “Goody Two Shoes,” “Strip,” “AntMusic,” and “Desperate but Not Serious,” Adam Ant was one of the few faces of the punk scene emerging out of London during the 70’s and 80’s that first achieved international fame.
Appearing in the film “Jubilee” in 1977, Adam Ant recorded around this time his classic punk cuts including “Plastic Surgery” and “Deutscher Girls.” His later work became more pop oriented and radio friendly, yet he still maintained his signature sound and punk roots.
Adam Ant’s show at the Cruel World Fest 2024 was exciting to see. The massive crowd loved him, and his showmanship in top form. We’re glad he’s back.
